Abstract: Приводятся сведения о величинах основного и общего энергетического обменов у некоторых видов морских копепод. Обсуждаются различия общего обмена у свободно плавающих и прикрепленных особей. По литературным данным проведен анализ зависимости КПД преобразования метаболической энергии в механическую от нагрузки. Показано, что механическая работа, совершаемая конечностями прикрепленных копепод, не достигала оптимальных величин, и потребление кислорода в этих условиях нельзя считать предельным.
Description: Data on values of the main and total energy metabolism in some species of sea copepods are presented. Some reasons are responsible for absence of the common standpoint concerning limits of the energy metabolism variation in copepods. It is essentially that the theoretical estimates of metabolism in copepods in sea take no account of the possibility and significance of transients in energy metabolism of organisms. Data from literature are used to analyze a dependence of the efficiency of the metabolic energy transformation into mechanical one on the load. It is shown that mechanical work of limbs of the attached copepods does not attain its maximal values. Therefore oxygen consumption under these conditions cannot be considered as limiting values of the total metabolism in sea.
