dc.descriptionInfracommunities of macroparasites in reef fishes associated with scleractinian corals were studied in the Bay of Nha Trang (Vietnam). Two groups of symbionts were compared. Fish-parabionts, temporally associated with corals, possessed more diverse and abundant infracommunities of macroparasites than inbionts, permanent inhabitants of coral heads. The role of symbiotic and trophic relations in shaping infracommunities of parasites and impact of parasites on fish ecology are discussed.en_US
