Description: | The parameters of the nematode infection in 10 species of Anatidae in South Karelia were investigated. The identified nematodes are typical and widespread worms Anatidae. Almost all types of nematodes geese - geohelminthes with direct life cycle: the birds are infected with larvae of parasites by eating plants. The development of species such as C. anatis, H. dispar, T. tenuis can participate paratenic host: earthworms of different types and possibly other invertebrates. Anas platyrhynchos hosted eight nematode species and B. clangula was host to four nematode species. The infection and the occurrence of various species of nematodes were depended on the characteristics of biology and ecology of the hosts. Also the detected nematodes have epizootic importance. They can cause helminthiases of domestic and wild birds duck. |
