Description: | The sensory organs in tegument of adult Parachrisianella sp. were studied. Numerous ciliated and unciliated receptors were found: six types on the bothria and one type in the strobila tegument. Analysis shows that ultrastructural constitution of cestodes' sensory organs in form of ciliated free nerve endings as well as unciliated basal nerve endings has many common features inside Eucestoda taxon. For the family Eutetrarhynchoidea, our data suggest that the bothria perform sensory function, participating not only in the primary adhesion, but also in choosing the place of attachment to the host's intestine. |
