| Description: | First study results of the mature ovarian balls of the acanthocephalan Neoechinorhynchus tumidus are given. Examined ovarian balls are shown to be the same by structure with those, from other species of acanthocephalans and are consisted from the central oogonial and peripheral supportive syncytiums. The outer envelope of the ovarian ball does not represent a separate structure, but is the part of supporting syncytium. |
