Description: | Two epidemiologically significant helminths species have been found in fishes from waterbodies of the Russian Federation Central Zone, they are Pseudoamphistomum truncatum and Apophallus muehlingi. The natural nidus of the pseudoamphistomosis is spread in water bodies of the Tambov, Belgorodsk, Lipetsk, Bryansk and Tver'areas. The potential hosts of Pseudoamphistomum larvae are carp fishes (bream, roach, redfin, silver bream, goldfish and asp). The micronidus of the apophalosis was found in the Uglich water reservoir (Tver' area) and in Desna river (Bryansk area). |
